Win Big, Lose Small
Doing this is so much fun when we win big. Doing this is so torturous when we lose small. When we win big like Wednesday night I can hardly contain my excitement. When we lose small like tonight I ponder why I put myself through this.
I was there, in person, watching Nebraska hit a three at the buzzer and then I was there, in person, watching Michigan State beat us in overtime and then I was there, in person, watching Wisconsin beat us in overtime and then I was there, in person, watching UCLA Tyus Edney us. Each game left me wanting to fall to the ground like some Olympian who lost the gold by 0.01.
Yes, I realize that I'm not on the team. But I still want to fall to the ground.
On this road trip, we scored 195 points and gave up 160. I'd much prefer those be distributed as a 98-80 win and a 97-80 win. But we ended up with a 101-65 win and a 95-94 loss against two teams with very similar NCAA resumes at the start of the week (USC's a little better than UCLA's). Let's talk about that.
