It was a guarantee that Detlef would pick this game. Seems obvious - it's the last time Illinois beat Ohio State in Champaign. I was a freshman at the time, and the good feelings of 1989 and 1990 had not yet left Champaign. We were #20 and they were #11. The good feelings wouldn't end until the loss at Iowa the following week and then the worst loss of the Mackovic era the next week against Northwestern.
