The Basketball Is Good

I started writing for IlliniBoard.com in 2015, but didn’t start covering games in person until the 2016-17 season - John Groce’s final one as Illinois head coach. I covered a handful of games that season, but all were at the State Farm Center. The first road game I covered was an overtime loss at Northwestern - played at Allstate Arena because of the Welsh-Ryan renovation. An omen to be sure.
