Starting Early

I'm starting this post at the start of the second half. I took that picture (just before Keaton Wagler scored the first bucket of the second half) and I'm just going to keep writing through the second half. It's possible I even finish right when the game finishes you'll get a postgame article in the immediate postgame. Gonna do this one stream-of-consciousness style and not edit a single word. If there are typos below... I'm not gonna edit them.

First, let's acknowledge this. Iowa will make a little run here. This is #16 at #19 and #19 will make a run. I'm writing this article to document, in real time, how we handle that run. It's a great early season test. A lead bouncing between 10 and 15 most of the first half. An 11-point lead at halftime. A home team that's going to make a run (they can't continue to play as poorly as they did in the first half). Let's see how we respond.
