SOC - Oregon

Let me just start this one by talking about my wife. Just a quick shoutout and then I'll get to my thoughts on the Oregon game.

I'm typing this in my usual Friday night spot – on the end of the kitchen island – and my wife is asleep over there on the pullout couch across the room. We have a packed house this weekend, and we gave the bedrooms (including our bedroom) to the kids with kids (it's a lot easier to have the baby in the crib if you're in a bedroom and not out in the main room on the pullout couch) so we're taking the hide-a-bed for the weekend.

(Does anyone call it a hide-a-bed anymore? When I was a kid we had two couches that pulled out into beds and we called them hide-a-beds. Maybe it was just my family.)

Anyway, I just want to note that she didn't sign up for this. She's on the hide-a-bed because of a football game that she doesn't really care about. She handled most of the household duties this evening (there were a lot of sheets to change) because I covered a basketball game. And tomorrow she'll spend 12 hours at a tailgate. She enjoys tailgates, and she loves having the grandkids here, and it will be a fun day... but it's not something she'd choose if she were planning a weekend.
