SOC - Indiana 2025

With games like these, sometimes I wish I didn't have to watch. I never feel like this for home games, but for road games, I honestly sometimes go to sleep on Friday night daydreaming about just checking the score a half hour after the game is finished. I look at the emotional commitment necessary during the game and I decide that I just don't have it in me.

I last felt like this for the Iowa State Sweet 16 game in Boston. When I got up to go pace with 10 minutes left, I headed from the hockey pressbox up top to the floor. And not floor seats or anything - I headed down to the tunnel where the players enter and exit the court and watched the final eight minutes from there. But the two minutes of game time that went by while I was on the elevator headed down? They were blissful.
