Offense U
We're having a moment right now. An offensive moment. Like no moment I can recall since maybe the late 1980's. On both sides of Kirby, we have a really good offense. Perhaps even a ridiculously good offense. Both teams. Let's talk about it.
Let's just start with the efficiency numbers. And yes, for basketball, it's way early. All we've done so far is confirm to guys like Ken Pomeroy and Bart Torvik that our offense will be even better than they thought (and their laptops thought highly of our offense preseason). But as the competition grows, the raw numbers will obviously go down.
(Still, KenPom preaches that there's so much to learn about your offensive efficiency when you're playing nobody opponents and 113 + 113 tells you a lot more than you think it does. There's a reason we've made a steady climb after beating two nobody opponents and there's a reason UCLA fell 20 spots after beating two nobody opponents.)
