Golf Fans

You probably already knew this, but college golf tournaments are lightly attended. For the most part, it's just parents and maybe a few former players. Sometimes, the members of the local club (where the tournament is being played) outnumber any actual fans. They're there to watch college golfers tackle their course. That was the case in Memphis last month and that was the case in Baltimore two weeks ago.

Like, I'm sure there are thousands of UCLA grads who live in Baltimore/DC, but not a single one showed up to watch UCLA win their first Big Ten golf title 15 days ago. It's just not a thing for most schools. There were a few Maryland fans (we were in Maryland), there were parents of individual players (there are always parents), and there were a few dozen Illini fans. Which is a ton for a college golf tournament.
