From The Stands - Maryland 2026

I'll just tell the story real quick and then I'll let you listen to From The Stands.

After we had to punt with about 8:30 on the clock, I ran to the restroom. It's all the way down at the other end of the tower on the south side of Maryland's stadium. On my way to the restroom, I noticed this door by the TV booth:

I mean, if I need a spot to pace...

When I walked back from the restroom, I headed for that door. It leads to the photo deck in front of the pressbox. It's where the TV cameras are located and also where photographers can go if they want to get shots of the action from up top:

{Chandler Bing} Could there BE any better place to watch the final eight minutes? {/Chandler}

So that's where I watched those final two drives. Maryland's drive stalled, they had to punt, the Illini get it back with 5:45 left, and a cool, calm, and collected Altmyer-like drive from Katin Houser (well, mostly from Jordan Anderson) led to a knee at the two and a game winning field goal as time expired.

I never film the game action from any of the press areas (you're not supposed to), but I filmed that field goal. And I'm glad I did because I feel like the reason there wasn't a second left was the football sailing onto the roof of the athletic building instead of hitting a net:

Anyway, as soon as I stopped recording the video, I flipped over to the audio recorder and recorded my From The Stands (which is really From The Photo Deck this week).

5-3, can clinch a bowl as soon as Friday night. LET'S GO.
