A Preview And A Review
It's amazing how cold it got so quickly. At the Ohio State football game, I was very warm. I just walked out of the State Farm Center and it was cold cold. It's going to be 35 tonight and I have no idea how we got here.
That's typically how the transition from football to basketball feels. Especially now that the basketball season starts in early November. True story: the first game of the 1993 season was December 1st. Not a single game in November. If we weren't playing in something like the Great Alaska Shootout over Thanksgiving, the first game wouldn't be until December back then. Tonight? A game on November 3rd.
It's so difficult to switch my brain into that mode, you know? We're bowl eligible with three games remaining and my brain is still full-on football. But the last week was spent writing up the basketball preview and then going to a football game and then returning to the basketball preview. It snaps my head around the same way an 81 degree day followed by a 35 degree night switches my mood from fall to winter.
The preview? All Grange Tier and Seventeen Club subscribers should have received it in their email inbox this afternoon. If you didn't receive it for some reason, email me (robert@illiniboard.com). And if you're an entry-level subscriber (or not a subscriber at all), I did put it up for sale just like I did for the football preview. The football preview was $17 (and you know why) and the basketball preview, well, it's $11 (for Dee + Ayo). If you're not a subscriber who receives the bonus content and you want to purchase it, go here.
Now I'll toss the paywall up and we can talk about the first game.
