No clear-cut leader for Harper
February 5, 2008
From Jacksonville.com:
Trinity Christian standout running back Jamie Harper will soon be ending the suspense.
The top back in the Times-Union Super 75 is set to announce his college destination Wednesday during a noon ceremony at the school.
Harper visited Miami this past weekend. He is considering Illinois, Clemson, Miami and Florida State. His announcement is expected to be televised on ESPN.
“Jamie had a good visit to Miami,” Trinity Christian coach Verlon Dorminey said. “I still don’t think he has a clear-cut leader. I think he’s going to sit down with his dad and make his choice.
“I think the two most important factors for him are having a good relationship with the coaches and who’s in front of him on the depth chart.”

Illinois failed to land E’Twaun Moore during the recruiting process, and then the Illini couldn’t stop the Purdue freshman guard Saturday at Assembly Hall.

Simeon steals show
February 3, 2008
From the Chicago Sun Times:
Stan Simpson, the Wolverines’ 6-9 center, played through most of the fourth quarter and both overtimes with four fouls. It didn’t affect his game. He scored six of Simeon’s 12 points in the overtimes and finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks.
”He really sucked it up,” Robert Smith said. ”That’s what we’ve been waiting for him to do all season. He’s always had that in him. Tonight he let it all out.”
